Q1: How do you prefer to start your day in the office?

Posted on 24 February 2022

Welcome to DS Group’s first blog for our ‘Getting To Know Our Consultants’ Campaign. Each Thursday for the next 10 weeks we’ll be posting a blog on the responses from each of our 6 lovely consultants with the hope of getting to know a bit more about them.

Consultants everywhere spend every day getting to know their clients and candidates. It can range from the fundamentals of job hiring and job hunting: their needs, what their values are, how they want to develop - allll the way to the fun things they’re getting up to, and even the more personal and private matters of their lives…

You name it – the consultant’s there to hear you out, whatever it may be!

However, we don’t always get to hear about the weird and wonderful qualities, hobbies or opinions of the consultant. And that’s the intention of these blogs! Some questions will be a bit random (but who doesn’t love random?), some will be in-depth and others will be short and snappy.

We’re going to start off with a nice and simple, almost introductory-like question: How do you prefer to start your day in the office?

Brad…

“Ideally I’d want to get in early and be working before everyone turns up. Coffee is key…I need it haha. Early bird gets the worm.”

Oscar…

“Breakfast and a tea straight away, just like that – bosh. You’ve set yourself up for the day.”

Ben…

“Have a look at emails, have a coffee maybe get some cereal. Love the option of having toast too. Just get something to wake me up and I’m ready - good to go.”

Emily…

“I like to come in a little bit earlier and set everything up so I’m ready. Then I’m not really a breakfast eater so I just make a coffee, down that and have a little catch up with everyone.”

Eddie…

“Get a coffee – neeeed that morning coffee, I can’t function without it. Sometimes have a bagel or crumpet with butter. Sourdough crumpets…best thing in the world.

I’m partial to a bit of marmite on toast too.”

Darren…

“I usually get in first and I’m on my own for maybe 30/45 minutes haha…because of the coach. Have a coffee, go through what I’m doing that day and what I did yesterday and go from there.”

Looks like there’s a bit of coffee-loving theme here – addicts maybe😂? A little insight into everyone’s first few minutes in the office! Stay tuned for question number 2:What led you into this career?...
