Q6: If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in anything, what would it be and why?

Posted on 31 March 2022

Welcome to week 6 everybody!!

We have some more interesting thoughts from our consultants and this week it’s about what they would want to be an expert in if they could snap their fingers.

Although it’s never too late to learn a new skill, it’s normal to feel like you didn’t home in on a particular skill enough in the earlier years of your life.

So, what would the consultants want to be an expert in?

Brad…

“How to speak to people and lead the conversation but in like a peaceful way. Really just getting the most out of every conversation I have – have a purpose with every conversation.

…And I’d love to play the piano.”

Oscar…

“Singing.

If I was a good singer I’d be on tour now, making millions – maybe haha.”

Ben…

“I’d love to be an expert in languages.

One thing that frustrates me is being in this job you speak to people in a lot of different countries and not being able to speak their language: I sometimes feel disrespectful in a way. It’s more personal to know their language and people appreciate that.”

Emily…

“Saving money haha.

I don’t know where it goes?! I want to be good a keeping track of my finances and actually understand where it all goes.”

Eddie…

“Astronomy. I’d love to know everything about space!”

Darren…

“I think public speaking.

I watch loads of stand-up comedy and I find it so amazing. Even people doing like wedding speeches.

Whenever I get in front of a crowd it’s so nerve wracking. If I could just be myself but on a big stage that’d be cool.”

Hopefully this question has led the consultants to step outside of their comfort zone and take small steps in becoming an expert in their chosen skill/subject! It’s not impossible (maybe the singing for Oscar😉…)

I hope you’ve enjoyed this blog and stay tuned for next week!
